1st shot Canon A700

I'm slowly but surely starting to record music again even if I've had some problems this past year with my spare-room studio and my inability to get a true handle on the technology. But the results are OK at least.

mp3: Dusty 12 Drone (beware - 12mb)

This is cracked drone, split chanell spittle, weird chord, 3 note bass and kick all done with slightly twinged presets on the Alesis Ion - a very nice synth indeed.

  • I'm really enjoying this. The start makes me think of TD's Hyperborea - maybe not so much the album itself, but some of the instruments, especially some radio bit I heard on 3PBS-FM years ago where they had the members playing all the various instruments they were using one at a time.

  • Nice! Ended a little too abruptly for my tastes, though -- it could have gone on another five minutes and I'd have been even more pleased. As always, it sounds great when played very loud late at night in my cavernous old warehouse studio...

  • "jimmy" - thanks too. ending wise, i wanted it to split up as the patches intimated. i like how it's all simmering build up and then a quick let down. next time i'll do a 20 minute thing for you.
